About This Project

A summary of my work of documentation of the Jazz scene supported by a love for Music comparable only to my creative drive for visual expression of improvisation.
“The artistic versatility of the photographer is an additional resource to add a note of authenticity to a scene. His experience as a self taught musician creates an empathic bridge with those who bring music on a stage, whether it is a theater, a stage under the sky or a road. The result are images that give immortality to that moment when the musician, fused with his own instrument, forgets himself in the act of giving himself totally to the public. An image that has no sound will never describe a voice, but the intensity and the powerful sweetness are expressed by gestures, glances and proxemics of someone who that voice is giving life”. Una raccolta relativa alla mia ricerca di documentazione della scena Jazz supportata da un amore per la Musica che va di pari passo alla mia propensione a raccontare, attraverso l’espressione visuale dei gesti dei musicisti, un genere che fa dell’improvvisazione la sua chiave di lettura.
“La poliedricità artistica del fotografo rappresenta un’ulteriore risorsa per aggiungere quella nota di autenticità ad una scena. La sua esperienza di musicista autodidatta crea un ponte empatico con chi porta la musica in scena, sia questa un teatro, un palcoscenico sotto il cielo o la strada. Il risultato sono immagini che regalano l’immortalità a quel momento in cui il musicista, fuso con il proprio strumento, dimentica se stesso nell’atto di donarsi completamente al pubblico. Un’immagine che non ha suono non potrà raccontare di una voce, ma dell’intensità, della potenza o della dolcezza ne sono testimoni i gesti, gli sguardi e la prossemica di chi a quella voce sta dando vita.” (Elsa Dilauro)
